"Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art."

I am truly passionate about art and design.  As a child I was drawing floor plans for the absurdly huge mansion I was going to build one day, designing 80’s inspired fashions, and rearranging my room almost weekly, exploring how the changes made the space feel.   Picking one love to pursue as a degree was hard, but the idea of creating spaces for the public that could affect them in a positive way, stood out to me the most.  I now have over twenty years of interior design experience in both hospitality and high-end residential markets.  I take pride in listening to clients’ needs and helping them find the best solutions in every aspect of the process, including design development, construction documentation, and installation.  While working in the high end residential market, I discovered a new love- furniture design.  Here I was able to take my obsession with detail, form, and function and create classic yet comfortable designs.   As I moved into the hospitality markets, I learned how to cater a space to a larger audience with a wide demographic, while maintaining the functional/business needs of the client.

All the while the artist in me never went away.  I dabbled a little bit with oil paints in a high school class, but it was not until I took  Intro to Oil Paint in college, that I really clicked with the medium.  I have created several series of oil paintings, and have shown at local galleries, as well as participated in art fairs.  What I have found is that my hands need to be making something or I am not happy, so I am continually taking classes and checking out new mediums.  I have found an affinity for printing processes, wood work, cooking, needle point, and weaving.

Sometimes I feel as though my creative energy could power a small city.  I thrive on it being used to its maximum capacity.  Design “problems” can be exciting, because this is when I get to use my years of experience, creative thinking, and intuitive nature to come up with a solution.

In conclusion, I seek beauty, balance, and spaces that uplift.
